BIBLIOGRAPHY OF WEST INDIAN CHURCH HISTORY

Product no.: HP068

Compiled by Rev. Arthur Dayfoot and Rev. Roscoe Pierson

This book offers a comprehensive annotated guide to books and other source materials for the study of Christianity in the English-speaking Caribbean. It also includes many similar items relating to neighbouring territories – Spanish, Dutch and French – and to other religious bodies in the Caribbean area.
This is a companion volume to Dr Dayfoot’s history, The Shaping of the West Indian Church, 1492-1962. It also includes materials concerning the forty years since 1962.
The bibliography has been compiled over many years in co-operation between two scholars who served churches in the Caribbean. Many others have contributed information and advice.
“Students and teachers of the history of the church in the West Indies have long been without a resource such as the present text provides ... Not only does this work cover the five hundred years of Christian activity in the West Indies, but it is arranged in a manner which should be of considerable help to researchers.” Rev. Canon Noel Titus, Codrington College
